– Chasers prepared cars put in a good showing at the annual Evonats.
Gan’s EVO 8 was quickest outright in the
sprints at Winton. Car preparation, mechanical work and tuning were carried
out at Chasers. Suspension work and setup by Centreline. Chris Musket drove
very consistently right from the first session. Well done Chris.
Our EVO 6 in Super
Modified class was sure to be a contender for the class but failed to put
in a hot lap because the pull type clutch mechanism came apart over the start
line. The car is now fitted with a push type clutch! We’ll bring it
out in a few months to see what it can do.

– Spotlight on a customers car: Remy in New Caledonia has put together a Subaru
which is the best STi we have had the privilege
of being involved in. Chasers supplied the APS turbo, piping, cooler and
Motec M800 as well as parts of the fuel system. Possum Bourne Motorsport supplied the 2.5 litre engine which was
built to handle over 2 bar boost. Chasers’ Paul Flourentzou tuned the
Motec M800 to 1.8 bar in lower gears and just
under 2 bar in higher gears. Take a look at the videos of the car going
through 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

- TUNING UPDATE. We’ve been having good results reflashing
the latest WRX and STi. The software we use gives
us access to a huge number of functions and tables in the standard ecu and
customers feel a big difference in performance. Reflashing
of WRX and EVO’s on our 4WD Dyno Dynamics costs $750.

TUNING UPDATE. Jamie Robinson had an outright win in his SR20DET powered
off-road buggy at Donald on April 26th 2009. Jamie recently replaced the
engine in his buggy and came to Chasers to have it tuned. Off-road racing
is probably the hardest type of racing for an engine and the Chasers tune
gave him the reliability to finish and the speed to win outright. Centerline also pulled their 20B powered RX7 Sports Sedan out of storage to compete in the first round of
the championship at PhillipIsland. A new engine
meant they needed dyno tuning. Chasers dyno tuned the engine and provided
track support. The car got pole and won the meeting outright. Not a bad
effort!

- TUNING UPDATE. Chasers Motorworks has been re-flashing and tuning factory
ECUs on Subaru WRX (2001 onwards) and Mitsubishi
EVO 6-9 models for some time now and would like to let everyone know we are
having excellent results and lots of positive feedback from the online car
enthusiast community. Re-flashing is an alternative to running an
aftermarket ECU and is a highly recommended option if available, as no
wiring or hardware changes need to be made to have full control over almost
every ECU parameter, including things like fuel/ignition mapping, variable
cam timing control, idle control, boost control, etc. This option is very
cost effective and is suitable for even mild modifications such as intake
and exhaust system upgrades, as well as more significant modifications such
as larger turbochargers, injectors, camshafts, etc. Feel free to contact us

- Results from the 'OTR Trackday' at Winton
Raceway have been added to the Motorsport section. Some of our guys recorded
new PB's and we took the opportunity to shakedown
one of our latest project cars - Gan's EVO 8 MR -
setting a best lap time of 1:33.3sec.

- Recently we upgraded our 2WD Dyno Dynamics dyno to a 4WD Dyno Dynamics
model, now enabling us to tune any type of car model in-house. Being an
official Motec dealer, our tuning department specialises in supplying,
installing and tuning Motec equiptment, as well
as many other types of aftermarket ECU's and reprogrammable factory ECU's.
